Background

Upon completing my Master’s degree, I came to Colorado in August 2005 to continue my 13 year career as a Fitness Professional. I considered the opportunity to move to Colorado as one that would allow me to expand my life experience in the beauty of the Colorado Mountains. My favorite fitness activities include: Mountain Biking, Cycling, Snowboarding, Trail Running, Hiking, Yoga, and Strength Training.

Before moving to CO, I had worked for a local franchise gym, an upscale Athletic Club, and spent five years with the YMCA in my home town of Rochester, NY. Desiring a better opportunity for personal and professional growth, I discovered a career opportunity in Boulder, CO. After spending two more years in a Health Club setting, I found myself disheartened with the familiar practices that had accompanied all of my previous job experiences.

Tired of having to inflate Personal Training prices, to make up for the large percentage taken by the Health Clubs, and the pressure of sales, I formed TRUE FITNESS LLC. The sole purpose of this endeavor is to provide AFFORDABLE Personal Fitness Advise and direction to individual’s that desire results without the “Health Club Fluff”.

PHILOSOPHY

I consider myself a Personal Fitness Advisor rather than a “Personal Trainer”. A Financial Advisor doesn’t “train” you how to invest; they teach and guide you, to help preserve and grow your wealth. I prefer the term “Advisor” because it implies a level of integrity that should be expected from anyone teaching and guiding you in the preservation and growth of your HEALTH. The term “training” is used loosely in the context of this web site or any marketing material. I do feel this term lacks respect for the client and does not describe the actual learning process appropriately.

As a movement oriented instructor I take pride in my attention to detail and the ability to help clients clearly define their fitness vision and create a realistic plan to achieve success. The foundation of all my conditioning programs begins with information gathering that includes: exercise and health history, eating habits, work environment, levels of stress, and most importantly GOAL SETTING, barrier identification, and strategies to overcome those barriers. The gathering of this information is vital in designing the exercise program and schedule.

Regardless of what the goals might be, each program will focus on joint stability and optimal joint range of motion to allow for a safe and effective exercise experience. The cardiovascular component will always be specific to the client’s overall vision and utilize Heart Rate Training for measurable results and consistency.
